Maid of Honor Responsibilities on the Wedding Day
Being asked to be the maid of honor in a wedding is more than just a title. Standing up next to the bride is an honor and comes with responsibility. Here is the list of Kruse Plaza’s top tips for our maids of honor when working with the Kruse Plaza team and standing as point of contact on your bride’s wedding day!
In the Window Photography
1. Coordinate reception items.
Ensure all reception essentials like toasting flutes, the couple’s registry book, candle lighting, seating cards, and wedding favors are delivered if not already done so.

2. Be in Touch with the Venue Coordinator for Day-of Needs
Connect with your wedding venue coordinator at rehearsal to make sure you know what will be needed of you on the wedding day. Your main job is to intercept any inconveniences that may cause the bride stress on her wedding day.

3. Provide Emotional Support to the Bride and Mother of the Bride
Keep the bride calm and excited throughout the day, sharing in both the planning and celebratory emotions. Initiate celebratory moments like toasting with Champagne.
Support the mother of the bride with tasks like hair, makeup, and ensuring she stays engaged but not overwhelmed.

4. Ensure the Bride Eats & Stays Hydrated
Monitor the bride’s food intake, offering snacks to sustain her energy amid the day’s excitement.
Oversee the bride and bridesmaids’ drinking, ensuring moderation with water and snacks available.

6. Bride and Groom First Look
Whether the Bride and Groom choose to have a first look before ceremony or wait until they see each other at the aisle, part of your job as maid of honor is to coordinate with the Kruse Plaza coordinator and the photographer to keep the couple apart until their desired time.

7. Help with Dressing
Assist the bride in dressing, ensuring everything needed is prepared and easily accessible.
Help with final touches and details, ensuring the bride looks impeccable.

8. Assist in Restroom
Aid the bride with restroom visits, managing dress and accessories smoothly.

5. Social Media
Respect the bride’s preference for an unplugged morning or a videoed morning; capture and share special moments with her approval.
Make sure to have an idea of any special reels she is wanting to make during the wedding day, so you can be prepared and get photographer assistance if needed.
Do not let family or party share posts on social media before the bride is ready for it to be shared on the wedding day.

9. Secure Wedding Rings
Safeguard the wedding bands until ceremony, ensuring they are ready for the ceremony & given to whomever is the designated holder.

10. Manage Bouquet
Hold the bride’s bouquet during the ceremony and return it after vows they are announced husband and wife.
During the reception, make sure all bouquets are put in their respective spaces on the head table, guest tables, or cake table.

11. Initiate the Reception Celebration
Celebrate with the bride during the reception, enjoying the festivities together from toasting the couple to getting the dance floor packed with guests.
